Week of January 23 - February 3

This week in Math we will learn about The Many Uses of a Number Line.


This lesson will introduce the reading of thermometers and telling of time to the nearest 5-minute interval in relationship to a number line. Other patterns include investigating number lines used in time and temperature. A vertical number line using varying scales of degrees Fahrenheit and a circular number line using a scale of five minute increments are studied. The scale and the position of the hour and minute hands are examined in order to tell time on the analog clock and then associate it with time displayed on a digital clock.
