Tommy Hooker begins his 3rd year as a High School Principal for C. H. Yoe High School. Mr. Hooker has 14 years experience in the field of education. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Education and his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University. He believes all students deserve an opportunity in education to learn and to explore their chosen field of endeavor. The foundation students receive during high school will prepare them for their journey beyond high school.
Mr. Hooker has served on the Board of Directors for the Texas Middle School Association. He is currently a member of Cameron First United Methodist Church, the Cameron Rotary Club, TASSP (Texas Association of Secondary School Principals), and is involved with other professional organizations. Tommy and his wife Stacy have been married for 16 years and have 3 children, Kami, Kelton, and Kerrigan, all who reside and are active in the Cameron community.
Highlights for the Week of March 5, 2010
C. H. Yoe High School

The boy’s soccer team defeated Gatesville on Saturday by a score of 4-0. Martin Rodriguez, Angel Rios, and Adalberto Ramos scored goals for the Yoemen. Outstanding defense allowed the Yoemen to shut out their second opponent of the season. On Monday Yoemen were defeated by Waco High.
The Yoemen took third place in the tournament held on Tuesday at the Cameron Country Club. The Yoemen finished with a team score of 382, which were five shots behind second-place finisher Hutto. Tyler Sapp led the Yoemen with a score of 88, followed by Kevin Crouch with a score of 90, and Tyler Vrazel at 91. Justin Youngblood and Nathen Schupp both finished with 112. Yoe fielded a second team that shot a combined 496. Other individual scores were Colton Shelton and Josh Smitherman who each shot 113, Nick McAtee who shot a 132 and Ryan Wise with a 140.
Yoe Senior Steven Townsend was named to the District 23-3A All District basketball team. Townsend also averaged 7.7 rebounds per game. Junior Zach Brashear was named to the second team. Seniors James Wells and Tommy Anderson, juniors Jack Rhoades and Cheyenne Black and freshman Edgar Luna each earned honorable mentions.
The District hosted the Regional concert and Sight Reading Contest on Thursday. This was a tremendous success for our school and for the 20+ schools attending. The Yoemen Marching Band earned first division ratings from all six judges. The band earned the coveted sweepstakes award as a result of earning first division ratings in marching, concert and sight reading. A job well done by the dedicated students and directors: Mr. Moss, Mr. George and Mrs. Roberts.
Girl’s golf played at Brenham yesterday and Lauren Eighingher was 1st medalist with an 82. Emily Dohnalik shot a 97. The next tournament for the girls is in Gatesville next Tuesday.
